What can the mouse tester check?
It shows button, wheel, double-click, and movement events received by the browser. This can reveal a missing or repeated event, but it does not identify the physical component responsible.
Can this site measure hardware latency?
It measures timing around browser events. The result includes browser scheduling, operating-system processing, display refresh, system load, and human reaction, so it is not a direct measurement of device hardware latency.
Does the polling-rate page show the mouse's hardware setting?
No. Mouse Polling Rate Estimate summarizes pointer events delivered to the browser. Event coalescing, display refresh, operating-system scheduling, pointer speed, background throttling, and system load can change the estimate, so use manufacturer software to inspect the configured hardware value.
What is the best DPI or polling rate?
There is no universal best value. Choose settings that feel controllable and stable for your display, application, desk space, and accessibility needs. Manufacturer software is the reliable place to view or change device settings.
Why does a mouse single-click appear twice?
Repeat the check in another browser and computer after cleaning around the button and reviewing the operating system's double-click setting. Persistent duplicate events may indicate switch wear, but a browser result alone is not proof.
What can the keyboard tester check?
It shows keydown and keyup events received by the page. Browser, operating-system, and hardware limits can prevent some shortcuts or combinations from appearing, so the tool cannot certify N-key rollover or anti-ghosting specifications.
Why is a key not displayed?
Confirm the page is focused, then try the key in another application and browser. Some media, function, language, and system shortcut keys are handled before a webpage can receive them.
Do wireless devices work?
Yes, if the connected device produces normal mouse or keyboard events. The page cannot directly measure battery health, radio interference, receiver quality, or Bluetooth performance.
Are the tools free and do they require installation?
The current browser tools are free to use, require no account, and do not require software installation.
Are test results uploaded?
The test interactions and displayed results are processed in the page and are not intentionally uploaded by the tools. The site separately loads analytics and advertising services that may receive ordinary web-request data; see the Privacy Policy.
Can I save or export a test report?
Supported tools can save up to 20 reports in this browser. The Reports page can copy a summary, download JSON, or open browser printing for Print / Save as PDF. Reports are not account-synchronized and are not certified diagnostic or warranty documents.
Can I use this for a warranty or repair decision?
Use it as an initial troubleshooting aid only. Repeat the behavior on another browser or computer and follow the manufacturer's official diagnostic and support process for consequential decisions.
