Read the results
- Left clicks count click events; Browser dblclick events are a separate browser-generated signal.
- The default 80 ms threshold marks newly recorded intervals at or below that value as a suspicious rapid pair.
- Changing the threshold does not rewrite earlier observations; reset before comparing a new threshold.
Limits and retesting
- A flagged pair alone cannot establish switch chatter or another hardware fault.
- Operating-system double-click settings, genuinely fast clicking, browser scheduling, and system load can affect results.
- Repeat slow single clicks several times, then compare another browser or computer if rapid pairs recur.

A single press seems to activate twice
Make a series of intentionally slow clicks and look for intervals below the disclosed threshold. Reproduction is useful, but the page does not identify the cause.
Intentional double-clicks are not recognized
Compare ordinary intervals with the browser dblclick counter, then review the operating system's double-click speed and application-specific behavior.
Results differ between browsers
Browser scheduling, event handling, extensions, remote-desktop software, and system load can change timing. Keep the clicking method consistent while comparing.
A repeatable troubleshooting sequence
- 1Keep the default 80 ms threshold, Reset, and make at least ten slow single clicks with clear pauses.
- 2Note any suspicious rapid pairs and whether the browser also emitted a dblclick event around the same attempt.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between click and dblclick?
The browser emits ordinary click events for individual activations and may additionally emit a dblclick event after a qualifying pair. This page displays the two metrics separately so a dblclick is not counted as another ordinary click.
Why is the default suspicious-pair threshold 80 ms?
It is a conservative starting value for separated slow-click testing, not a hardware standard. You can adjust it from 40 to 250 ms, then Reset so all compared intervals use the same disclosed threshold.
Can intentional fast clicking create a warning?
Yes. Genuine rapid clicking can fall below the selected threshold. Begin with deliberate slow single clicks and interpret a warning only in the context of how the test was performed.
Does this page diagnose switch chatter?
No. It records browser click intervals and dblclick events. Reproducible rapid pairs can support further troubleshooting, but firmware, debounce behavior, software, and the physical switch are outside browser visibility.
